We could fill this category tomorrow with a PDF-to-text extractor and a page counter. There are already dozens of both, and none of them would be better than what exists.
A tool ships here when we can say what it does that the alternatives do not. Until then the category stays empty rather than padded.
What we are considering
- PDF metadata inspector that surfaces the fields most tools hide: producer, embedded fonts, encryption level, and form field inventory
- Document diff, comparing two PDFs by content and structure rather than pixel-level rendering
- Accessibility checker for PDF/UA compliance, reporting tag structure and reading order issues
